Training Program On Composting and Panchagavya Preparation in Uttar Pradesh

A two-day training program-cum-workshop on Compost making and fuel-efficient smokeless cook-stoves was organized in an open Mango field under a Tent at Hajipur Village, Nindura Block in Barabanki District.

Sustainable Chilli Programme for ITC

Implemented Sustainable Chilli Programme in Raichur, Karnataka with the involvement of about 500 chilli farmers for ITC Limited.

ITC’s Wood Availability Program for the Tobacco farmers in the Mysore Region

ITC has implemented a Wood Availability Program in the Mysore region to ensure a sustainable and cost-effective supply of firewood for tobacco curing. The initiative addresses deforestation concerns, high firewood costs, and farmer dependency on external sources, promoting agroforestry and self sufficiency.

The journey from farmers to Agripreneurs involves transitioning from traditional farming practices to adopting entrepreneurial approaches in agriculture.

Agri Cluster Formation

WCS intends to take a lead initiative in developing sustainable agribusiness enabled through an ‘Integrated Agribusiness Developmental Initiatives’ covering agriculture and allied sectors covering production, infrastructure and industrial segments on an end-to-end concept.

Better Cotton Initiatives Program

Guided International donor institutions (www.bettercotton.org) to set up and implement farmer support programme in Indian Cotton Sector which has brought direct benefit and networking of more than 3,00,000 farmers across major Cotton growing states of India, by working with various likeminded organisations across these states.

 

Compost Pits Construction and Training

The combined entity of GEF/UNDP SGP CEE and Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, have supported We Care Society in implementing various climate change mitigation program. Under this umbrella we have undertaken Household Biogas, Compost pits and Smokeless Chullah programs, as all these will be complementary to each other’s in a long run.

 

Exhibited In International Organic Melas

Participated in International Organic Exhibitions such as Biofach and exhibited the Organic Produces grown by our farmers.

 

Exposure Visit To Stakeholders Coming from 15 Countries of Europe, Canada

Successfully conducted the Exposure Visit To Stakeholders Coming from 15 Countries of Europe, Canada, Africa and Asia. The team visited various cotton growing area of India such as Tamilnadu, Andhrapradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat.

 

Farmer Education Programs

As part of the Skill Enhancement and Digital Literacy for the Rural Youth and Farmers, we have undertaking various awareness and training programs at the Village Panchayat level.

GI Tag for Horticultural Products of Karnataka

WCS is working with Dept. of Horticulture and NABARD for facilitating the GI tag for some of the unique products hailing from the state of Karnataka.

Knowledge Partner for Sustainable Sugar Cane Program in India for Fairtrade

WCS evaluated the impact of Fairtrade sugar certification to date within Fairtrade producer organizations that has held certification for more than three years.
Collected the baseline data thru oral interview and questionnaires, separately with producers, cooperative management members for Fairtrade sugar groups

Knowledge Partner for Sustainable Sugar Cane Program in India for Solidaridad

In 2017, Solidaridad commenced “Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative in Karnataka” interventions in partnership with Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd. and supported by Coca Cola Foundation to promote good agronomical and climate smart agriculture (CSA) in sugarcane farming. This project focuses on sustainable sugarcane production through climate smart agriculture practices in the area of four units namely Athani, Kolavi, Munoli, (Belgaum district) and Havalga (Gulbarga district).

 

Market Linkages For FPOs and FIGs

Undertook market linkage programs for the produce grown by the farmers, under various initiative such as Organic Melas, Annual Agriculture Universities Krishi Melas, Private label market places, retail stores etc, for the FPOs and FIGs

National Organic Meat, Poultry and Fish Seminar

Conducted National Conference on Organic Meat, Poultry and Fish With focus on Production Technics and Value Chain Management.

Organic Certification Services

Undertook Organic Certification programs for APOF in the state of Karnataka for both PGS and NPOP standards for the Organic Village Program
The tasks involved are Farmer registration, Field Visit, Awareness creation, GPS marking, ICs maintaining etc.

Organic Farming Initiatives in Ghana Africa

Undertook Organic Farming training for the farmers in Ghana, Africa, focusing on preparation and use of Organic Inputs, Certifications aspects, preparation and use of Natural Pesticides, etc,. along with partner organisations.

PPP Projects with Govt. of Karnataka in Agri and Horticulture

WCS Implemented PPP IAD Programs on Millets, in association with Dept. of Agriculture, Govt. of Karnataka benefiting around 4000 farmers in 2 Districts with approx. 5000 Ha of Millets growing area being involved in the program.

 

Soil Nutrition Enhancement Programs for Sustainability

In the Soil Nutrition Enhancement initiatives various programs have been undertaken by our organisation.
The major ones are construction of Compost Pits clubbed with training the farmers on the scientific methods and innovative techniques in the preparation of Compost. We also did practical training and handholding on the actual usage of compost thru the field demonstration classes also.

Sustainable Agri Initiatives

WCS is implementing its Sustainable Agricultural programs in many Indian States, where in it is assisting the poor farmers in reducing the cost of cultivation clubbed with increasing the cumulative income thru livelihood and skill enhancement initiatives and market linkages by forming FPOs and Farmer Groups at village levels.

 

Training Cum Exposure Visit To Farmers From Maali, Africa

WCS organized a Training cum Exposure visit to 15 BCI farmers and farmer representatives from Maali, Africa spanning various states of India, as part of the BCI program.
The main focus of the program was to introduce the Indian Sustainable Agricultural practices to the visiting farmers and to exchange their practices to Indian counter parts.
